California Greenworks Environmental Leaders Award

Each year California Greenworks seeks to recognize individual efforts of persons or groups who have made significant strides in making their community green and sustainable.

In most of these efforts they have work with community leaders, NGO’s or other individuals who seek to improve the quality of life through outreach & education, leadership, collaborative efforts and actions that promote environmental sustainability and economic development.

We do not just recognize these individuals for who they are; but for what they are to our community and at large.

Youth Sustainability Summit October 22nd at Trade Tech College

California Greenworks will be hosting its Youth Sustainability Empowerment Summit taking place October 22, 2016 from 8am to 2pm at Los Angeles Trade Technical College. This event will be the first program of its kind dedicated to fostering youth advocacy, environmental and economic health and awareness in the underserved community of South Los Angeles. Currently, people of color and the poor are disproportionately affected by a myriad of environmental illnesses. As a result, communities of color often experience societal and physical ailments three to five times that of others within the nation.
