Nancy Ngugi is a founding member and currently serves as the Board Secretary of California Greenworks, Inc. She is also a Project Manager for Gas Engineering, Project Construction and Management at Southern California Gas Company (SCG). Nancy’s responsibilities at SCG includes managing major capital and engineering projects relating to long-term improvement and operation of natural gas infrastructure consisting of over 45,000 miles of transmission and distribution pipelines throughout southern California. She has overall project management responsibilities from cradle to grave for major transmission and distribution construction, business and technical evaluations including, process improvements, new business opportunities and accountability. Project costs range from $100,000 to over $10,000,000.
Nancy has been heavily involved with water quality and Stormwater programs for the State of California. She was a former Assistant of planning, engineering and design at Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. She specialized in water resources planning and supply management as well as environmental restoration of the Bay-Delta Estuary, a critical and major source of water supply for agricultural, municipal and industrial sectors in California. Prior to joining SCG, Nancy worked for the California Environmental Protection Agency (Cal-EPA) at the Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board.
Nancy holds a Master of Arts (M.A) degree in Environmental Analysis and Policy from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She has several professional certifications pertaining to environmental protection, resources management and restoration including habitat and open space planning and development.
